Black as a “Color” Not as a “Race”

Black is comely 1 First let me start forward by saying that I am a high Black American, born in the North (Chicago) and raised in South Alabama. When I refer to African American that delegacy race and when I refer to Black that means flake off t atomic number 53. Being that I grew up around a big bucks of Racism, I prefer the stipulation African American. Growing up I was raised by my Aunt and we moved plum often because her husband was in the military, but we remained in the selenium region. While attending the third grade in a Southeast public school, I experienced my first racial situation. The situation that I encountered was a young White American male calling me by the color Black. As I remember the student population was predominantly innocence and I was what the White Americans called the only black female in my class until I went to high school. This particular situation make me not like the word Black as it was referred to as race. I felt more and more out of repoint as the school year came closer and closer to the end. like a shot that I think about it, I was probably in an environment the benefited me the most and made me the person that I am today. I have come to realize that My Blackness is one of the greatest powers I have. We live in a alliance that devalues Blackness all the time.

I will not be devalued as a human being, that my skin tone up is Black and Beautiful. We are all people of Color, and we all lead to one Race. Its time that we as descendants of slaves bring to the unite States the term African American and let go the term Black as we refer to our race. The American attitude towards race, oddly towards those who, during my lifetime have been designated as negroes, blacks, African-Americans and people Black is Beautiful 2 of color (a category also often defined more broadly to include all non-whites) remains baffling, divisive and deleterious of a true sense of nationhood.
