* Nelson Mandela was born on July 18, 1918 in Mvez, South Africa.
* Mandela had 12 other siblings between 3 other mothers.
* His childhood nick piddle was Rolihlahla which means to pull a branch of a tree or troublemaker
* Mandela was the first member within his family to attend school.
* His teacher gave him the English name Nelson
* His father passed away when he was only nine years old from tuberculosis

* Found the ANC in 1944, whose main purpose was to overthrow the current government and its intervalism ways- South Africas white minority government indemnity of racial separation.
* Held numerous positions in the African National intercourse (ANC), including Secretary and President at one time.
* Banned from ANC in 1952- prohibited from attending meetings or holding an office
* ANC operated underground
* Stood up to section peoples concerns, which further improved his leadership image.
* Mahatma Ghandi was the individual who influenced Mandelas decision in starting a practice of law firm.
* Mandela was initially opposed to violence, but after a debacle of unarmed black South Africans in 1962, he began advocating acts of closing against the government.
