The fight for women’s equality was a timeless battle. Although a lot of women’s ideas never got taken into consideration, they never stop fighting to at least put ideas out there. In the late 1770’s and the next hundred years that passed, not a lot was accomplished for women. Social changes b atomic number 18ly occurred, and when they did the changes were rattling minor. No matter how hard women fought, their social status in America wasn’t very affected. On the other elapse the domestic life for women did make an alteration, even though it wasn’t for the best.
Some historic women like Abigail Adams tried to modify women’s rights. She reminded her husband president John Adams to “not forget the ladies”, up to now he went ahead with his proclamation of “All men are created equal”. Women repeatedly tried to adjust society’s views on the significance of women; whether through writing like bloody shame Wollstonecraft in the 1780’s or conferences like the Seneca Falls design in New York in 1848. The protesting of women did gain them a modest amount of civil liberties, such as education, and limited judgeship privileges. These were relatively small steps for this time period barely did pave the way to milestones in women’s history.



By the nineteenth century though, women still had the legal status of a minor, couldn’t innate divorce and were denied control over their land when they were get hitched with! Women were considered legally incompetent.
Domestically, some changes did happen for women though. Around the late 1700’s, republican Motherhood was formed. This allowed women to go out and get an education. Even though the idea behind it was for their children to become better educated citizens, women’s literacy rate raised a tremendous amount.
