Team Dynamics

After the ag conclave has agreed to participate in our experimental study, we appointed Kim as the spokesperson for our team and the main give since she had already been in communication with this team. The primary liaison with whom we were in contact with was the team leader, Melissa. The team that we observed has run acrosss on Wednesdays at 2pm. Since this was a non-negotiable time, many members, including myself, had schedule conflicts. I consume a seminar class that meets once a week on Wednesdays from 1-3pm. Therefore, I was unable to attend any of the four meetings that our host observed. We whole taped the latter two meetings; therefore, I did not have much insight into the premiere two meetings beyond the notes from the members who were present. The first meeting was taped onto a cassette. However, the tape was never circulated in the group - even though we did mention at genius of our weekly group meetings that it go away be passed around. Since the attendance for the observations of the team was low (core 2 members at all 4 meetings and 1 other member attending 1 or 2 meetings), mavin member sent out notes on these meetings so that the members who could not attend could be more or slight on the same page.




In the beginning we had decided that we will have a short meeting before department every week to discuss preliminary, interesting observations from the team meeting the day prior. However, attendance to the weekly group meetings were sporadic. This is because we had settled on the time without consulting with every nonpareil’s schedules. I sent out a doodle to coordinate a meeting time, but not everyone remembered to respond. The attendance issue decreased the effectiveness of these meetings, because there were one or two members who essentially never showed up to the group meetings, and I was always running to the meeting from another one in Leverett that overlapped with the group meeting.
