The title of this short story is Everybody Talked Loudly in Chinatown. Our protagonist is a girl named Lin, who has Chinese routs. In the story, there are used a first someone narrator, who is the protagonist. It is a restricted straits of wad, because we direct Lins point of view and no one elses. If we had heard from anyone else point of view for example, her nannas or parents then it would have been a nonher story. Lin is the storys protagonist and narrator, she is around 13-15 years old and she lives at legal residence with her parents, brother and grandmother. They live in Canada, but are Chinese. She is in the middle of puberty, and she finds her friend Todd very attr proceedive, we have been told how obsessed she is with him. She knows that her parents would not accept her going out with a boy who is not Chinese. In China there is a lot of traditions and her parents give not tolerate Lin breaking them, that could be why her parents act like they do in the end of the story. But we could get a feeling of that it is not fair, she has been raised in Canada grew up with people which are not Chinese. Lin is grade of a rise up she lies in front of her parents and slaps her father after he slapped her.
Lin grew up in Canada, and when she was little she had a close relationship to her grandmother. Her grandmother used to take her to Chinatown, and properly wanted Lin to learn a about China. Lin seems like a bit quieted person who lives in her own imagination, but also she is a very kind and helpful person, because she helps her grandmother to eat and does what she is told by her mother. The story got a lot of themes like love, hate, popularity, family traditions, love between two incompatible cultures and puberty. All these themes we can connect with Lin, and that way we know Lin cave in than anyone else in the story, and we support her and have a kind of benevolence for her.
