When I was first given this assignment, it was easy for me to come up with a get hold ofs opinion for my department. I am the coach of Food and Nutrition Services at Clarian North Hospital. I am constantly look for ways or solutions to bump my patient satisfaction scores. I observe my employees, I call into question them, and distribute observes to determine what empyrean in which we (as a team) need to correct on. Each time it is evident that the greatest area of weakness is lack of communication skills. My most recent survey given to patients was during the second quarter of 2010 which showed that 96% of the patients were satisfied with the tact and helpfulness of our service. The quality of food was also an area to improve in which came in at 88% satisfactory. While these numbers pool sound great to most, they are only average when looking at all hospitals in the county.



A score that would be good or an area of success would be 97% or higher on courtesy and helpfulness and 90% or higher on food quality. Therefore, my needs assessment project for this course will be on meliorate communication skills among my employees.
Needs assessment is the process to determine whether schooling is necessary. Needs assessment has to be properly conducted and well concept out or problems could and will occur.
